Implemented at the initiative of the European Commission, the UCITS IV directive is designed to facilitate the sale of funds and the rationalization of the trust industry. Long awaited by international trust firms, work began in 2005 and it should become effective on July 1, 2011.

Is the industry ready for this new directive? What impact will it really have on their business? What strategies have they adopted?

The European strategy and organization consulting firm EUROGROUP CONSULTING will attempt to answer these three questions through a survey of 78 professionals (trust companies, depository banks and fund administrators) in 10 European countries: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

In France, the construction sector is the most energy-consuming and polluting in terms of greenhouse gas effects, a situation which leaves room for some real improvement opportunities.
How can we mobilize all the economic players? Which economic players should be favoured? Which public subsidies and regulation should the state implement?
To provide answers to these questions, EUROGROUP CONSULTING has conducted a study among a score of key players on the market together with the Sustainable Development Chair of L’Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris.

The liberalization policy in the electricity and gas sectors started in the early 1990s. Since 2000, new challenges such as global warming awareness and security of supply have raised the need for a more adapted European policy in terms of energy. The necessity of integrating these new priorities leads to question the coherence of the European energy policy and its ability to face these new objectives.
EUROGROUP CONSULTING delivers a new study named «Gas & electricity markets by 2020: outlook and implications» conducted among some 50 major players of the energy sector in Europe.

The EUROGROUP CONSULTING analysis of changes in the insurance distribution channels in France emphasizes three main factors:

  • the insurance sector is currently experiencing its third revolution,
  • these new consumer expectations should lead to a bipolarization of the consumer insurance market, corresponding to the shift from a mass market – consisting of packaged, standard and undifferentiated offers (currently dominant) – to still emerging markets, termed “of demands” and “of commodities”,
  • Each family of players (mutual firms without intermediaries, general agents and bank insurers) has to rethink its model according to its own characteristics and challenges.

For the 7th consecutive year, the strategy and organization consulting firm EUROGROUP CONSULTING publishes the Insurance Decision-Maker’s Barometer, a study conducted among some 40 decision-makers in the sector. The results of this new edition highlight five main findings:

  • while decision-makers share an optimistic view regarding the level of activity for the coming year, they still express concern for the return on general insurance and life insurance,
  • the Internet factor remains a major concern for market players who are more in a cross channel approach,
  • beyond the strictly financial sphere, the crisis did not have a real impact on the sector but clearly accelerated market movements, such as the policy-holder focus on price or the decline in their loyalty,
  • in order to face changing consumer expectations, insurers currently define the differentiation strategies that they will implement over the long term,
  • the players surveyed do not yet have strategies targeted to seniors.

To follow up with the thinking process initiated in 2009 about human resources management in the public sector, EUROGROUP CONSULTING and the alumni’s association of L’ENA (L’Ecole Nationale d’Administration) have analysed the way high potential individuals have been management in the public sector this year; a strategic issue in these reforming times and hunt for talents.

The management of high potential individuals has become a major issue in most large companies in recent years. What about the public sector? Are the administrations braced to spot and keep their talents and face the competition with the private sector? EUROGROUP CONSULTING and the alumni’s association of L’ENA have led a study in the autumn of 2010 among 8 promotions of alumni.
