Pro Bono Lab’s teams of volunteers provide free consulting for small and medium-sized associations
These ‘Pro Bono assignments’ enable public-interest associations to access the skills they need in terms of marketing, communication, strategy, finance, human resources, the Web, law, etc. Since 2012, Pro Bono Lab has assisted around a hundred associations, mobilizing 1,200 volunteers to complete more than 150 Pro Bono assignments. We were enthusiastic about its concept of ‘consultancy speed dating’ and decided to expand our customary skills sponsorship by incorporating the ‘Pro Bono Marathon’ in our training plan.
Pro Bono Lab is remunerated as a training organization
The associations receive highly operational assistance that meets their needs, while our young consultants enjoy an opportunity to apply in practice the lessons learnt from our ‘standard’ consultant training modules. They are all supervised by the firm’s experienced managers.
The first ‘Pro Bono Marathon’ at Eurogroup Consulting was held in September 2014. Two more sessions followed in May and October 2015. At each one, twenty-five consultants split into teams for a day on the 22nd floor and provided advice on the problems of three public-interest associations. In this very special, original location, the consultants applied their knowledge to come up with ‘in vivo’ recommendations. Two ‘Pro Bono Marathon’ sessions a year will continue to be scheduled with other associations, since the module is now a permanent fixture of our training plan.
